SHEAFFER IMPERIAL LIFETIME FOUNTAIN PEN (1963)
Together with the Compact Cartridge pen and the "Reminder" clip ballpoint, Sheaffer presented the new Imperial pen line to its sales force in December 1960. The introduction of the Sheaffer Pen For Men (also known as PFM) in 1959 marked the beginning of the new angular Sheaffer profile, which was followed by all of these new products. Some of the Imperial pen models are frequently mistaken for their larger siblings because of how similar their features and designs are to those of slender PFMs.
When producing the new Imperial pen, Sheaffer opted to use the simpler Touchdown filling system rather than the more intricate Snorkel filling system in order to save costs. Sheaffer maintained the pen's premium price point in spite of this.
This Sheaffer's Imperial Lifetime released around 1963 with button converter system, Sheaffer reintroduced its renowned Lifetime warranty in 1963 as part of the company's 50th anniversary celebration. The warranty had been discontinued in 1947. Sheaffer changed the name of the White Dot models in the Imperial line to Lifetime, and to set them apart from the other models, he stamped "LIFETIME" on both the nib and the clip's face. It's interesting to note that Touchdown fillers were only included in the less expensive Lifetime pens, which were cartridge/button converter only.
Pen are in new old stock condition, there is no original box but will be replaced with other Sheaffer box.
