The world of traditional techniques used in Maki-e weaving. One by one, the Maki-e artist creates exquisite patterns using all the luxury and time available. One could still argue that the Maki-e fountain pen, which captured the attention of the world during the early Showa period, is a symbol of Japanese culture. Togidashi Maki-e is used in "Togidashi Hira Maki-e" to finish the background lacquer, while Hira Maki-e is used to finish the main pattern. This pen depict Sakura flower symbolizes both life and death, beauty and violence. As the coming of spring promises new life, so the blooming of cherry blossoms brings a sense of vitality and vibrancy. At the same time, their short lifespan is a reminder that life is fleeting.
