NAMIKI NIPPON ART TURTLE & CRANE FOUNTAIN PEN (2017)
NAMIKI NIPPON ART TURTLE & CRANE FOUNTAIN PEN (2017)
A group of Japanese maki-e artists known as the Kokkokai collaborated to create this Namiki maki-e fountain pen. A crane and a turtle are portrayed in the Hira Maki-e (flat maki-e) technique found in the Nippon Art collection. The pen comes in a velvet-lined wooden box, has a size #10 14k gold nib, and fills via cartridge or converter (a CON-70 is included).
The Nippon Art Collection uses Hira Maki-e (Flat Maki-e), a black lacquered background, to draw traditional Japanese and auspicious subjects that are well-known worldwide. It is stunning to see because of the lacquer's glossy black color and each piece's vibrant abundance.
